Dear Guinea Pigs Readers
You have nobody but yourselves to blame for this, you insist on coming back to the blog, you leave lovely comments, some of you even tell me I’m FUNNY. All it does is encourage me. I go off to blogging conferences and I come back with IDEAS. Which of course I then have to test out.
This week’s great idea is podcasting. I’ve spent three days teaching myself how to podcast. It’s taken at least three goes to do the voice over. The first one I was on fire, sounded great, unfortunately the builders next door unleashed a jack hammer which pulsated nicely through the audio. The second one I was ok, the dog barked but I could edit him out, the phone rang with a telemarketer wanting to save me mega bucks on my phone bill and a stranger rocked up to the door trying to save my soul from burning in hell. I gave up and went for take three. By now I’m tired and making mistakes but we get to the end of the recording without any major interruptions so I’m going with it.
If I manage to work out how to get this practice run on i-tunes etc I’ll have another shot with some interviews.
In the meantime, suffer you the dedicated ones who keep me enthused about this silly blogging hobby. I promise when I’m a bigtime blogger earning millions I will remember you guys, the early adopters of Shambolic Living, I’ll buy you all t-shirts that will read “I survived the podcasting phase”.
Lots of love
Janine
PS – The podcast appears below the pictures of other posts you might be interested in reading (I don’t know why it doesn’t appear here but am too frazzled to figure it out right now). Click there to hear the podcast.
PSS – All right I’ve worked out how to put it ABOVE the post so ignore last instruction (isn’t this going well – are we all having fun?).

Good luck, I do like this idea, I dont think my voice is suitable for this. But the idea appeals and like you trying to develop something, My two blogs different to each other but still trying to find a path. I just refused an opportunity to write poetry for another, did not feel I could produce assembly line poems. But still looking, experimenting, money making ideas, but nothing yet.Janine I wish you all the luck and I will keep looking in. thanks. 😉

Give it a go Gerry – nobody likes the sound of their own voice on tape.

Look at that epic music. Now I finally know what you sound like!! (does that sound creepy? sorry…)
I also had the Facebook page problem… me vs. my blog. I think I’ve finally figured it out. I link my Twitter account directly to the blog Facebook page so that all of my tweets go directly there and I don’t have to touch it. Granted, I haven’t looked at the page in a while, so I’m not really sure if it’s working…

Yep the aussie, nasal drawl makes an appearance on the blog. It is quite weird to be having so many conversations with people around the world and having no idea what they sound like isn’t it?

I’ve only just had the chance to listen to this now. Intro music and everything! Most impressive. I’m also going to give this a shot for my blog after Kaz’s presentation at Blogopolis. If you can do it, I can do it, right? (And I mean that in the nicest possible way 🙂 )
