Ideas

April 11, 2013 By Janine 2 Comments

shutterstock_105976154I’m an ideas person. Ideas, I’ve got a million. Execution and follow-up not so strong. But I can think outside the square. Come up with solutions to your problems (probably better at solving your problems than my own but that’s OK).

Watching TV last night I came up with one of my best ideas ever!

Big Brother is calling for contestants over 30. Now I know they probably weren’t looking at the heading-to-the-grave age of 45. But we’ll ignore that, over 30 is over 30.

Now stay with me. I reckon we get a group together and head on in.

Imagine, locked up with no contact with the outside world, YOUR TEENAGERS CAN’T TEXT YOU!

We could have an AMAZING HOLIDAY. No children whining, nobody asking what’s for dinner, no driving anyone anywhere.

Just lounging about talking amongst ourselves, hot flushes, the pain of electricity bills, our children’s future, how the pressure of homework is killing us, we’d cover all the big issues. It would be scintillating television for the viewers at home.

There would be the odd challenge thrown our way, but honestly we are women who have negotiated arguments over who gets the last chocolate biscuit,  dealt with toddler meltdowns in the lolly aisle of the supermarket, and let’s not forget giving BIRTH! YOU ARE NOT GONNA BREAK US.

We’ll take a straw poll on who gets voted out when, your daughter’s formal coming up next week? Out you go then.  You’ve got to cheer on junior at the athletics carnival? That’s your number up. See peaceful negotiation to resolve the problem. Ultimately the winner is she who can distance herself from her family for the longest. Congratulations whoever that might be.

How’s that for an idea? It’s one of my best surely? Who wants to join me? I’ll even open it up to any brave male readers who reckon they could survive locked up in a house with a bunch of perimenopausal women for up to 100 days.

Have you had any good ideas lately?

I’m going to try to take part in the A to Z Challenge Blog Hop this month. That means each day a post related to a letter of the alphabet. Please note if you are participating in the Blog Hop and you leave a like or a comment I will visit your blog, but I can’t comment on Blogger blogs unless there is the name/url option, I don’t know why, but I promise I’m reading.

Last night I was watching Ready For Love – a new reality show where matchmakers try to help these girls get these three eligible bachelors and I thought to myself – I should totally apply for next season. Sounds like something to do to pass the time. And maybe I’ll meet someone lovely. Although, I don’t think I like getting pretty enough to make it on television. We’ll see how bored I get in life, maybe I’ll fill out the application.
