NaBloPoMo Celebration

November 30, 2011 By Janine 10 Comments

On this last day of November I can celebrate my successful completion of NaBloPoMo. We won’t mention NaNoWriMo – that will get it’s own blog of humiliation tomorrow.

Day in day out I managed to get a post up every  24 hours  for the month.

I got up early and stayed up late to get the job done. I learnt how to schedule posts so that my absence at not one, but two conferences, would not impact on getting a post online each day.

I owe a debt of gratitude to my brother for supplying photos for the days when there simply was no time to write anything longer than photo by David Fitzpatrick.  Some may consider that cheating, but I justified it by the fact I was already posting his photos before the challenge, they always get a good a response, I think they add a lovely feel to the blog and quite frankly they were all that saved me from a complete and total nervous breakdown when the pressure of daily posting got too much.

What did I learn from the experience? I learnt I love blogging every day. I learnt that ideas for posts are no problem, however, getting the time to write is the challenge. I saw my writing improve with the daily work-out. By making myself incorporate blogging into every single day I have vaguely started to get into a routine. I hope I will be able to get the routine sorted over the next few weeks and continue daily posting.

I also realised that daily posting does encourage more people to stop by and visit and that’s a really good thing!!!

Thanks to Miscellaneous Mum whose blog I discovered by accident on the day she happened to post about NaBloPoMo. Good on her for successfully completing the challenge as well.

So I can tick this challenge off as the first success for the Project 44 year of improvement. Yayy me.

Hooray! That’s wonderful. Since byw, I’m finding posting daily is fun, and despite the “how to not have writer’s block” – I haven’t had it yet. I agree with you about finding time, but it’s worth it. I take weekends off sometimes, however. It’s so great to come here and check on what’s happening with you. Way to go, Janine!
