Welcome to Shambolic Living.
This is a safe place for the domestically challenged, imperfectly styled, overworked and overwhelmed woman who is just doing the best she can with the hand she has been dealt.
When this blog was born in 2012 we were a family of four, with one child in primary school, another in the early years of high school. There were two dogs running around and life was crazy.
The blog was a creative outlet for this frustrated writer and a place to share our stories of family chaos and have a laugh.
It was my happy place.
Then is April 2014 my husband Simon drowned in a rock fishing accident.
The blog become a place for “writing out” my grief. My readers left moving comments and offered amazing kindness and support.
Life is different now and we continue to move through the process of adapting to a world without Simon.
Professionally, I am a radio producer, creating a daily program for the ABC from studios here in Port Macquarie.
The house is quieter now, one daughter has left home for university where she is studying Natural History Illustration. The other is finishing up her final years of high school.
The blog is somewhat neglected, but I think those who stumble across it can still find something to make them laugh or help them feel a little bit better about their own lives when they witness the shambles that is mine.
I hope you enjoy visiting my little bit of space on the internet and feel free to leave a comment or two. If you would like a regular dose of all things shambolic you can follow me on Twitter or Facebook or Instagram.
