What have you been up to this weekend?
Watching
We caught Home Again in the cinema. It’s the latest Reese Witherspoon film. It’s a fun little comedy. Reese plays Alice a just-turned 40 divorcing mum of two. At her birthday drinks she hooks up a 27 year-old, and acquires his brother and mate as well who move into her guest house as they attempt to get funding for a film project they are working on. Candice Bergen does a lovely turn as Alice’s mum, I would have liked to have seen more of her. This review gives a pretty good round-up of it. I enjoyed it.
The older woman/younger guy thing has been on my mind of late as a I plough through The Bachelorette. I’m worried about current Bachelorette, Sophie Monk. Oh the agony we’ve gone through watching her send good men home. This little video gives an entertaining look at the whole process. I didn’t think she should pick 24 year old Apollo because well he’s 24 and she’s 37. That’s two people at very different life stages. Now I’ve done a 360 on my position because the other blokes up for the title of Sophie’s boyfriend are a 44 year old rich dud with 4 kids and a vasectomy and a 30-something bloke who displays some possessive tendencies and became obsessed over a dead pot plant.
I liked the bloke in this Ted Talk. Starting a business after retirement might be something we all have to do.

A lovely piece about returning to the town where you were raised.
Listening
To an assortment of Spotify lists. Including Songs to Sing In The Shower I’m trying to find a good playlist for my 50th birthday.
