When I graduated from high school my mom talked me out of going to college for any kind of digital media/graphic design because it would be impractical. So I ended up being an engineer. And here I am years later with a blog mainly so that I have a place to do anything creative in my life. So I’ve totally be part of this story. I’ll be interested to see what she decides to do with it all 🙂

my child is also a senior, but won’t graduate until may. then college in the fall next year. we will miss them when they go, but that’s what parenting is for – raising a competent adult. maybe your artist will be a great success and fix up that house you’ve been working on!

joy to you!!! n

If it’s any consolation, I think the HSC is a fearsome beast whether your child is creative or not. I’m soooo glad it’s behind me now – my son did his in 2013. He’s got a mathematical brain so I had to help him through with English – it was a kind of torture (for me) trying to help him interpret texts. Now it’s just the step-kids, starting from next year, but thankfully they don’t live with me.

I just have to say though – that having one so creative – to me it seems the world will be her oyster – creativity will be useful in every field and it will help with problem solving, with visualising a better future, with relaxation (after year 12!!) & with keeping her right brain active! As an adult trying to rediscover my creativity I am immensely jealous she has it all happening now, what a gift!!!!! 🙂

Three days in Canberra for the national championships is not cheap! Wow, I can’t believe the girls are getting so old!
