Because of it I’m pretty handy with a hammer or changing a tire, can drive almost anything (with a few minutes of tutorial) and can thank him for my marksmanship skills as on Sunday afternoons we would go for Sunday drive about the country and “gopher hunt”. I’m still pretty good with a rifle and did well while in the military in that department! Thanks dad…he’s 77 now and I turn 50 this summer and he still stops to visit almost every day! Cherished memories!

I didn’t do a lot with my dad, especially not as a teen, but I do remember tagging along with him as a small child when he was working on the farm – sitting in the back of the truck when they were distributing drought food for the sheep, or hanging about in the shearing shed, or, most memorably, jumping around in the cow bales while he was milking the house cow and falling into the pit that collected all the water … etc. … that he hosed off the floor.
