Remember when you were little and you used to set up your dolls for a tea party? You dished out yummy cakes (sometimes real, sometimes made of mud and sometimes just a figment of your imagination). You poured watery tea from your plastic tea set. You told dolly she needed to behave or she wouldn’t be allowed seconds.
Last Sunday I got to enjoy the grown-up version of the tea party. Maggie, Ally and Mimi got out the vintage teacups and created an awesome high-tea spread including cupcakes, melting moments, sandwiches, cheese cake, mini quiches … and I could go on and on.
For just a little while we stopped, stepped into a bygone era, sipped our beverages, delighted in the sweet treats and caught up with friends.
It was a delightful way to spend a spring afternoon. Thank you.
Trying something new for the next month. Have successfully completed Fat Mum Slim’s photo-a-day challenge once, but every other time I tried I’ve failed to keep up. So this time I’m going to have a crack at using the photo list as a writing prompt. Do you want to take bets on how many I manage to get through before I crash and burn? Given that most of my posts are written in a flurry of activity between 6.00am and 7.00am with often no idea of what I’m going to write about until about 6.15am this is a state of organisation I’m not familiar with, but let’s give it a shot.
