Actually, I think anyone who gets to the Olympics to represent their country has done so well and should be applauded before they even compete! A medal is the (very nice!) icing on the cake!

He’s very sweet the way he keeps me informed, unasked, always popping his head in to tell me what the latest is, how we’re doing, how there’ll be recriminations when they return to home soil. I just say, “uh-huh”. This morning’s commentary covered James Magnussen just missing out by a hundredth of a second – heard that one a few times, and how it will be the worse result for Australia since the Montreal Olympics in 1976. I think I got that right? Very educational living with my husband, I must say.
