I could see you in the “shop” class. I’ll keep you in mind if I ever need curtains from bed sheets!

Oh that makes me laugh – send him to Hollywood – this could be your ticket to life of luxury in retirement. How much can special effects make-up artists earn on the big blockbusters?

He’s spend hours making liquid latex boils and scars. I’ll occasionally get a “Mom! Come here and check out this severed limb prosthetic! Isn’t is great?” I love me some severed limbs let me tell ya. Once upon a time, I knew nothing about special effects make-up, now I know a lot more than I want to about the subject. I keep wishing he liked Legos. *sigh*

I took “home economics” as we called it waaaaaay back in the day here in the states cause I thought it would be an easy A…cook some meals and sew a few things how tough could it be. Well I am a good cook, and oddly I still have the stupid little apron I sewed in class but the outfit I was required to sew never ever was worn…it was pretty hideous…but if you ever need some curtains made out of sheets I’m your seamstress)! In retrospect I wish I’d have taken “shop” class with the boys (and some of my girlfriends who took it too) as I am like your friend…I’d much rather build a house than to ever have to sew something presentable to wear.

ps…my friends each made themselves beautiful cedar hope chests which I’m sure they still have…lucky me I’ve still got my apron 🙂

I too share your pain of that same Spotlight store and the endless rows of fabric to choose from. I can only hope that Hippie Child’s skirt is as much a success as Skaterboy’s bag. Thanks for the ‘fond’ memories and keep us posted on her progress.
