This was done in a bookstore in Toronto, Canada. I heard an interview with the creative director and he was so compelling about why it needed to be books and not toys in a toy store. More and more of our independent book stores are disappearing and it is really sad. I have an e-reader and still I collect hard cover books. Somethings are hard to improve on.
Thanks Chris that would have a great interview. Here’s the credits from the clip on U-Tube. Here in Port Macquarie we don’t have many bookstores left at all. I’m currently trying to organise all my books and considering that e-readers would certainly solve the space problem I’ve got – but it’s not quite the same is it?
After organizing our bookshelf almost a year ago (http://youtu.be/zhRT-PM7vpA), my wife and I (Sean Ohlenkamp) decided to take it to the next level. We spent many sleepless nights moving, stacking, and animating books at Type bookstore in Toronto (883 Queen Street West, (416) 366-8973).
Everything you see here can be purchased at Type Books.
But none of it could have been done without all the volunteer hands who shelved and reshelved books all night, every night. A special thanks goes out to:
